Sorry the site was down guys. I had to take it off line as I worked on a serious virus. Hopefully, things will go well now, but , give it a few days to be sure.

Hi John, Yah, it was quite a game, I was actually up 3 pawns in the white side of a Gruenfeld, certainly should have won, but Doug outplayed me in time pressure and came up with an amazing windmill/mating net.

Great results for Keith, Matt & Doug and Mike. I'd like to see Doug's Swindle over Bob.

KW doesn't appear to have aged much since I last saw him some years ago. Can you post any games? As I recall, a rather Fischeresque approach, similar to both Bailey and Pushkedra. Say hello tohim for me if you can

Congradulations to Doug Bailey who won our club championship this year with 7 points. It wasn't easy though with a major upset by John Erickson and a near miss by Raymond Singh.
Erickson and Singh also had to face each other in the dramatic right for second place in round 8. Singh managed to get the victory leading him to a total score of 5.5 points and a clear second place.
The fight for the u1850 prize was equally dramatic with Ian Finlay and Aaron Both sharing it at five points each. Both in his game with Crichton was down a bishop and on the ropes but managed to trap the opponents piece to secure the necessary half point.
Well, it was all very exiting and if our future touries are this good things can only get better and better.
